Renters as members of the association

Posted in: Brookwood Recreational

A few families renting in the neighborhood have asked to join the association, while a few members have come out against allowing non-homeowners access to the association.  What is your opinion on this?  Write it in the space below or send an email to brookwoodsecretary@yahoo.com

I most definitely think renters should be able to be a member of the association.  They are just as much a part of our neighborhood as a homeowner.  In today's economy more and more families are renting and since we need more money, why would we not allow them to be members?  They are not "subcitizens"  just because they rent. We might even consider an extra nominal fee for renters.  As an example, if you are a member of the YMCA you can play on a team for a reduced rate or free and nonmembers have to pay more.  I don't think that would be unreasonable at all. What is the reasoning for not letting them be members?
