We enjoyed    OUR PLACE     in downtown Wetumpka.....Different than most restaurants in the Montgomery area........

 Nice atmosphere and though the price was higher than  I expected, was worth it...The dinner  and service was great,  we waited  about 20 minutes on a Saturday night, to be seated....

It is a family owned business,  a retired Elmore Co. elementary school teacher.....Her husband and  their children are the employeees ..

i have heard of Our place but never seen it, let us know where it is, ill try it.

The dairy queen in wetumpka is actually good as far as DQs go... it is family owned and the teenage girls that work there hadve a reputation for being a bit cold and borderline rude, but its kind of "southern rude" and many people know it and it is kind of fun. They dont mean it to be ugly.

 Chicken Shack in downtown is an awful looking place, which is why i have never been in there, but my friend who used to won a business down there says it is grandma style cooking and it is very good. If you are white and you go in there you will lieky be one of very few white folks in that place.I need to try it out sometime.

It's on 231 north, the stoplight before hwy.14  at Russell hardware.... not at hwy.14  stop light,  it's  the stop light before coming down the hill...sorry I dont' know the name of the street...turn left at the light,  OUR PLACE  is on the right, old restored brick building.... this street will take  you into down town. Wetumpka.

Update---the golf couse grill is now in the yellow building for daytime fast food...the plan is in the works  to offer night time dinners  soon.

It's open we just got a menu on our mailbox, during the week I think they are open til 7pm Fri & Sat til 8pm
