Hello Friends....!

It's that time of year - and planning for the Pawtucket Arts Festival 2007 has already begun! This two-weekend festival will be packed with artistic events throughout the City of Pawtucket, with another ''headlining'' performance sponsored by our friends at McCoy Stadium. In addition, we will be looking for artist vendors for our ''Stone Soup Folk Fest/Arts Fest in Slater Park'' which will again be topped off with the ending concert of the season by the RI Philharmonic ''Pops in the Park'' the weekend of Sept. 15/16. This call for artists will come out later under separate cover. It's not too late!! Currently, this is what we are needing:

CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR
2007 PAWTUCKET ARTS FESTIVAL

The Pawtucket Arts Festival (PAF) Executive Committee seeks proposals from artists, dancers and musicians. The City?’s 2007 Arts Festival will be held from September 7-16, 2007, at various locations throughout the City such as the Visitor Center, the State Pier and at Slater Memorial Park. The deadline to receive the submitted proposal is Friday, March 2, 2007. PAF?’s Program Committee is seeking proposals for all artistic media, including poetry, spoken-word, sculpture, dance, music (classical, rock, folk, blues, salsa, reggae, jazz, etc.), theatre, and film. Proposals for education workshops (glass, wood, ceramics, stone, polymer, fiber, painting and photography) will be also considered. Proposals will be reviewed and juried by the PAF Program Committee comprised of local artists. The proposals will be discussed and reviewed for scope of work and funding requested. Specifics must include: cost, scope of work, time-frame, installation requirements, stage requirements, sound and lighting requested and finally, equipment needed. Please include with proposal any supporting materials such as CD?’s, VHS tapes, newspaper clippings, photographs or other marketing information.
