Why have By-Laws???????

Posted in: Cambridge
Ok...I dont understand why we have the By-Laws if they are not enforced, or should I say the IMPORTANT things are not enforced. I have not lived here very long but I see more focus on things like mailboxes, and shutters and driveways. Why has the association not enforced the by-laws and take these parents to court that allow their children to hang-out late in the night and trash the street...If I read it right that is against the by-laws. Cambridge took time out to take the guy to court about a drive-way that was NOT BOTHERING ANYONE. The problem houses in Cambridge have been pointed out. When is something going to be done? Its VERY clear that the parents are NOT going to do anything to help out. So why not take action against them. I am very tired of the WHITE Cadillac and the ''Brown Car'' racing up and down the street, spinning the tires out, messing up the road. Everyone knows where these kids live and NOTHING is being done. What is it going to take? Do they have to hit a child with the car to wake everyone up? The police are at the houses all the time, so I dont want to hear anyone else say ''Call The POLICE''. Why Have By-Laws?

We have Covenants. Covenants are not County Codes. The topics that you have listed all fall under County Code Enforcements. We are an Association not Law Enforcement Officers. You are a memeber of the Association, and it would probably be too much to expect that you would also be a police officer. I certainly understand your frustration, but if you are not willing to follow procedure by contacting the local police department, what pray tell do you think the Association can do? And why complain if you don't feel the conviction of your statement strongly enough to sign it with your own name and not anonymous? I believe in what I say, and I'm not afraid or ashamed to sign my name. Things are much better in the last two months than they have been for a very long time if what I've read is any indication. And do you know why? Because people are getting involved. I'm glad to see that you are utilizing this web site. I applaud you for that. At least you are making a statement, where some of those who sit upon boards and committees, seem to do so only for name sake. They don't post comments, they don't introduce themselves to our community, yet, we are looking to them to speak on our behalf? We do have a section on this web site to introduce yourself to the community. When I moved here in March, there was one family on there, Michelle Tucker's. I created my own page for my family. I haven't seen anyone else create one. I'm proud of my community, I'm willing to fight for it, and I know alot of the rest of you are too. Hence Anonymous's frustration. Speak loudly Anonymous, but do so proudly, you don't have to hide behind anonymity. Meet us at the Nordahl Trailor on Thames Thursday night and walk or ride with us. We feel as strongly as you do, but it takes more than one voice to make the community listen.
Blessings,
