I thought there were rules about moving too close to a school?  I understand the guy who's currently in our neighborhood was there before the school was built, but how is this new one able to move in?

Texas law states that a convicted sex offender cannot reside within 1000ft of premises where children gather.

However, Texas does allow cities and municipalities to enact regulations that meet or exceed this 1,000 foot distance.

If he lives close to the park is that not considered a place where children  gather!  I am so curious why no one in this neighborhood doesn't petition against this sex offender living in the neighborhood.  School is starting soon he should have a field day watching the children!
