Hello,

In the last two weeks, one of my neighbor's cars was stolen and another one was vandalized/attempted vehicle burglary.  We live on Tyne Trail and do not get a lot of thru-traffic.  We are concerned there are people in our neighborhood that may be commiting these offenses.

I obtained this link from the LORTHOA website; dfwcrime.star-telegram.com.

The link is also on our homepage.

Tyne is one of the main roads that individuals (especially criminals) use to get from the front of the neighborhood in, to the back out and visa versa so, it does see alot of activity.

Our summer was unusually quiet compared to past summers.  However, there has been a recent spike in activity (Theft and Burglary of vehicle).  Everyone should be mindful to keep their possesions out of their cars if possible and certainly out of site at the very least.

A majority of the offences occur with unsecure vehicles. Poeple simply not locking their vehicles or keeping garages closed or occupied, creating a crime of opprotunity.

We can once again put a dent in this crime and even minimize it if we had more volunteers for the Citizens on Patrol Group.  The program does work but, not without volunteers.  A class is coming up Oct. 11th from 8 am - 4pm.  If anyone is interested in helping out, please email me at mcadomk@yahoo.com.

I live towards the end with the culdesac so we rarely get thru traffic, unless its lost drivers. I also work for the police department and have warned my neighbors repeatedly to lock their cars and don't keep valuables in their vehicles. The attempted vehicle burglary was a vehicle with very dark tinted windows, which held the window intact and kept it from breaking. One of those sparkplug jobs.   You can barely see inside this vehicle, so the suspect(s) we think know the victim has a nice stereo.  The stolen vehicle thankfully had Lojack, so it was returned, but stripped of course.
