I just wanted to say that my wife and I are coming up on our 1 year anniversary of living in RT (on San Joaquin) and I'm so glad to be a resident in this fine community.

We were walking around the neighborhood the other night, and I have to say: The folks in RT have done a great job on the Halloween decorations that have gone up. I'm glad the community gets involved and does it right for the kids.

We closed on our house on Halloween last year so we weren't able to take trick-or-treaters, but we're really excited to have the kids come around this year.

That is truly the one thing I can say really is a a community effort and always has been!  Since my girls were in kindergarten at Hurst Hills(they are now 23 and 20) River Trails has always done well with holidays and the kids and its not had anything to do with RTHOA and everything to do with an inherent since of community.

For those that are new to the area, be prepared and have tons of candy! I was amazed the first year we lived here when the kids kept coming. We have hundreds of kids each year, it is great to see them all excited.

I love Halloween and I love how great our neighborhood looks for Haloween.  I was a little disappointed with our first one because although there were tons of kids, most of them were too old to be trick-or-treating and weren't wearing costumes.

Now, I keep two bowls of candy, the good stuff for the kids who take the time to put together a costume, and crappy wal-mart brand candy for the ones who come with their back packs strapped to their fronts and no costume.   Last year one girl couldn't be bothered to get off her cell-phone while she stood there with her hand out for candy.  You gotta give 'em something though, you don't want to get "tricked"!

Most of the neighborhood kids have great costumes and it is a fun night!
