With all of the break-ins and other crime in our area, can neighbors stop "anonymously" calling the cops on barking dogs??  I'm glad that I have a dog in the backyard that barks when he is startled.  It makes me feel safer and yet I may soon get a ticket because my dog is barking during the day while we are at work.  At night he is brought into the house.

Not sure on that issue.  Have you been contacted by the police?  If so, ask them what you need to do to protect your house from prowlers?  I was up all night long the other night from a barking dog but it wasn't due to a prowler, the dog was left out in 32 degree weather and it was probably miserable without a dog house or shelter.  That's the kind of person who needs a ticket not someone like you that has a dog that barks at strangers.

the police have been to my house twice in the last few weeks.  both times they acknowledged that they sit at the curb for awhile and neither time have they heard the dog bark.  I bring him in as soon as i get home from work so he's never out past 6.  I would think the police could use their time better randomly patroling our area and not being called out to check on a dog

I totally agree.....I thought code enforcement would come out and not waste a police officers time.  At least it got the cops to come to River Trails so maybe the thieves will see a police car.  :)
