Did you not read what was typed?  The lady was walking in the street with no regard for cars.  There is a sidewalk in this neighborhood she could have been using it.  Yes people need to slow down but pedestrians need to be responsable for their own actions.   Walking in the street is dangerous.

Hey Monkey "stink"....pedestrians have the right-of-way!  Yea, I don't make it a habit of walking in the street, yea it is dangerous, but this is a neighborhood street not a stinkin' highway!  SLOW DOWN!! It's really easy, but not for some obviously!  Folks are in a hurry to get "stinkin'" NOWHERE!

Actually in Fort Worth if there is a sidewalk present the person walking in the street is committing a violation of the law.

Now we all know that nobody here wants to strike a pedestrian, but it always helps when they aren't walking in the middle of the street.

We all need to slow down, watch out for others and be respectful of others in order to be a nice community.

Crossing streets at a location that is not an intersection is considered jay walking, a fineable offense in most cities around the US but hardly enforced.  It's lack of common sense with respect to pedestrians that's the problem here.  Just like when people force themselves between you and the car in front of you on the highway with barely a car length's room, everyone assumes or takes the attitude that the other person will move for them.  THINK PEOPLE THINK....If there is a 1-2 ton big metal object with tires moving toward you, get the hell out of the way and stay out of the street.
