My husband has killed a water moccasin on our back porch and our neighbors had a nest of baby rattlers.  We find snake skins all the time.  Just remember to look before you stick your hand in the flower beds and watch where you step.  It's all just part of living in Texas by a body of water.

When we get extremely dry, hot weather snakes tend to move next to our homes.   I occasionally get what we called "ground rattlers" back home in Louisiana but I leave them alone.  It  keeps the hooligans out of my back yard.   If some of you would like a few (cheaper than a dog and you don't get upset when Oncor lets them loose), I can try and catch one for anyone on the list.

Oh know - not for me! Smile  I was cleaning my front garden - diggin up the old bark to replace it and almost grabbed a hold of a little garden snake.  I jumped a foot and my son laughed and laughed.  I didn't think it was all that funny!
