So,  I just got this today.  The reports are usually about a week behind.  What is the difference between theft and burglary?

The car was a gold sedan. The suspects are two young black men between 16 to 24 in age.

I think burglary is like entering a vehicle or building without permission and taking property.  Theft is taking property that is not contained within a building or vehicle, such as tools from the open bed of a pickup truck, property in the backyard or a purse in a shopping basket. (did you see on the news that $800 water slide stolen from someone's yard? Theft misdemeanor)  Burglary is a higher charge obviously.
