Is he still around the neighborhood? I might look at picking him up and/or taking him to a rescue to rehab & help find him a home. Local rescues do great jobs of finding an abandoned pet a good home. When my Mini Schnauzer passed away (15 years old), I got a mix from a local rescue (she was previously a stray) and has been a good pet at home. |

My father-in-law said he saw animal control chasing him a few weeks ago.
We haven't seen him, so we think they caught him. He was not a nuisance at all. He just seemed frightened, but he was truly a survivor. We figure he had been in the neighborhood for a few months. We first saw him in late May.
It is too bad you didn't read my post earlier. I have a feeling the poor little guy was probably put-down by now. This was about two weeks ago when my father-in-saw animal control in the area.
I have no idea if Fort Worth Animal Control tried to place the dog or if he was euthanized. I hope a local rescue took him and will find a home for him.
From what I have been told, an animal is kept for 3-5 days. If he is not claimed, (which we know this poor, boy wasn't), they are eventually put-down. That has been Fort Worth Animal Control's policy. Hopefully, someone at animal control took the time to evaluate the dog and placed him with a dog rescue agency. |
