All: File a report with Fort Worth PD. If you don't, even for a break-in where nothing was taken, they will not increase patrols in the area. Crime rates are up all over the city, however we still have one of the lowest crime rates in Fort Worth. It is VERY important to report it all to the police. Even a slight increase in patrols create a large deterrant in criminal activity in the neighborhood. Crimes like this are that of opportunity...they will go else where where pickings are easier and they are more invisible.
Criminals do not like to be seen, they prefer to remain invisible. Observant neighbors actually looking longer at an unknown person, causing them to feel they've been noticed, will make them go elsewhere.
Like many in the neighborhood, I have a tight schedule most of the time, however I'm taking time to start Citizens On Patrol, I encourage you to do the same thing. The more presence we have, the less issues there will be.
