It is obvious the streets are in need of repair. I believe the original phase was completed in 1978. Since then they have had spot repair by the county. I have spoken with the county commissioner about the streets several times in the past years and received the same answer. "There is not any money for the residential streets." I was the last treasurer of Oak Tree Estates homeowners association. The past presidents, Lee Newell and Paris Sanders helped get the new signs up about two years ago utilizing some of the funds left in the HOA account. We currently have approximately $3,000.00 left. Roger Tribby has been working with comissioner Sharpton to develop a plan. However it is apparent we will need to pay for most of the expense. There is about 200 homes in OTE and if everyone contributes it would cost approximately $500.00 to $1,000.00 each.
A brief history of the HOA. It was created and filed in Logan County. It was set up as voluntary for the current owners and mandatory for all new owners. It was determined to be legal and was dissolved. To create a new mandatory HOA there would need to be 100 percentage agreement of the current owners. To create a voluntary HOA officers will need to be elected and provisions of the new HOA will need to filed with Logan County.
I suggest anyone interested in helping organize the street repair or
HOA to contact Roger Tribby or myself.
