On my way to work this morning I saw a really cute beagle walking loose near 39th and Clybourn. He was a cute little guy with NO TAGS. Shame shame shame. He looked like he was trying to find his way home. I stopped but he wouldn't come near me. Seemed scared. He went on his way down 39th headed south.
PLEASE - everyone make sure your dogs have collars and tags on them for when these things happen. It just breaks my heart! I hope he finds his way home.

Beagle
Just so everyone knows the loose beagle is not ours but we appreciate the phone calls from neighbors thinking he is loose.
This poor dog has been loose for at least a week. He has been spotted up on Bluemound Road and up in the Kilbourn Street area roaming around and eating garbage. This is so sad since many people love beagles and would give this poor dog a new home!
If you see the loose dog during the day, or any loose pet for that matter, you can call Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission at 414-649-8640 and they will try and rescue it. Many local animal rescue groups then will take these animals and adopt them out or put them in foster homes if they have special nees or illnesses until they can be adopted out.

Milw Animal Control will try to rescue dogs. But when I called about loose kittens, they told me I had to round them up and -put them in a cage, then call back and they'd pick them up. I didn't have the fortitude to do it.
Hope the beagle gets a home! I'd take it, but one dog is all I can handle...

Loose Beagle
I also saw him about a week ago wondering down from 39th and Mt Vernon towards St Paul. The dog followed me and my dog about a block then turned back and headed down St Paul towards Valley Park. It seemed like he was from around the area somewhere so I thought he would just wander back home as they usually do, when the fun is over.
