Washington Park Habitat Restoration Workday
Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 9 to Noon ( actually 11:00am rain cut it short) I as did others came out and enjoyed the great outdoors this autumn. It was an activity for all ages and we did Seed Collection and plant identification. Seed collection may not be your favorite workday activity, but I think most of us had lots of fun. The seeds we collected will be spread in underdeveloped areas in Washington Park. This was a good way to partner with other parks in our area, explore nature and find refreshment from the demands of urban life. It also helps to envisions what CSU's "Prairie Garden could be. Because of your interest in what others are doing it gives us a visionary project to fulfill the "open, clear and free" spaces in our own community, a legacy for the entire Roseland Heights area.
