Dear Friends,
As members of RHCA and community residents, we know you care about Roseland Heights, it's parks, playgrounds and schools. You understand their importance to our neighborhoods.   With RHCA Parks Committee and Education Committee working on your behalf in the neighborhood, you can rest assured that we will work hard to ensure that the parks will remain beautiful and green.

As you are considering your holiday giving, please consider making a special holiday gift to these committees this Holiday Season.  We need your support to continue our vital work of improving the parks and helping our youth farther their education.

Strategic Goals For Committees
Educational Environment: RHCA continued to realize operational objectives despite financial challenges of the pass years. We have money for a scholarship in 2011;  we just need appliances. This year no one applied. The committee is strategically looking at other ways to help the youth of this community  and investing to maximize dollars effectively.

Cultural, Recreational Environments

As a result of volunteers and park  committee members we have a new supervisor at Abbott Park and a newly repaired playground. Volunteers did  maintenance on our community gardens planting more than 70 plant this season. Three members of Roseland Heights sit on the Abbott Park  Advisory Board. They work on keeping the park... Beautiful. They work for environmentally friendly park projects and are now discussing proposed artificial turf and new sporting events for track area. We want to be sure whatever is designed will have the least environmental impact on our community.

This year The Parks/Community Garden partners completed the Project.-
The proposed project for Roseland Heights was to have a garden at each intersection where the Dan Ryan meets a street. This summer the last flower bed was completed! (With no funds from RHCA). These gardens were done with donations of plants and money from volunteers and flower lovers.

Economic Benefits of Community Gardens
Completing the Last garden and having better parks would increase property values! Did you know having property adjacent to parkland and improved "green" areas makes your lot / community more desirable, as well as promotes economic revitalization with new small businesses in the vicinity of the Recreational areas.  Our goal in 2011 now is to make Roseland Heights the "Wow, what a great place to live" neighborhood. The park we create and land we conserve with your help today will shape a better tomorrow for all of us, benefiting people from every home in this community!  In 2011 your help would mean new arms for the challenge we face.

Thanks Happy Holiday
