FYI
Time for Change has Come
After two years as Vice President of RHCA I am saying goodbye. Just as Nick Smith Handed the baron to me in 2008, I am now handing the baton to Ms. Cathi Haynes, who we feel will be an excellent steward for the job to be done. I also say "Hello to you as the new President of RHCA.
Our three major goals are:
- To make RHCA the most successful and acknowledged organization on the South side.
- To be a vehicle for positive social change and to have a better community. And
- To deliver on our promise to each member and each resident to make your life all that it can be!
Will we accomplish them all? Whatever we do, as long as we are sustained by the people behind us -you- We can and will. Your emails that sustained and encouraged me helped to make my Vice presidency (well most of it) a wonderful experience. When I would see you on the street or you stopped by while I was working in the gardens, you would tell me what you think. WE'd talk about RHCA and community issues. You even had advice (most of it good) for me!
I am very proud that you have given me the privilege to lead RHCA forward. Ms. Haynes and I share a common belief that we will continue to make things better. And I know she'll do a great job.
I want you to learn from us.....leadership, and management, learn what a nonprofit organization is and can do. And just maybe by example we can teach social responsibility and involve you in helping yourself!
I expect to spend more time serving the community this year as chief executive officer (sounds good, doesn't it? smile) for the Roseland Heights Community Association.
So I bid all of you a fond "farewell" as Vice President and a Heartfelt "Hello" and thank you for the privilege to continue this mission as your President and Friend.
President
Clevan Tucker Jr.
