DuSable Museum's 50th Anniversary
Sorry I didn't get this out in time. This was The DuSable Museum's annual "A Night of 100 Stars Gala" celebrating the Museum's 50th Anniversary. I've been told it was a sold out event (see you couldn't have gotten tickets even if I had told you) It was a glittering, glamorous and lavish evening with exquisite food and drinks. The Honorees for the presentation of the 2011 Night of 100 Stars Award were Tom Joyner: Host of the syndicated "Tom Joyner Morning Show, Tim King, Founder, President, and CEO of Urban Prep Academies, Chaz Hammel-Smith Ebert, President of Ebert Production LLC and Jeremy Winters, Junior, Simeon Career Academy; creator of Simeon After-School Arts Group (Student Advisor to Mayor Elect Rahm).
The paparazzi greeted the guest; flashbulbs illuminated the night sky as guest walked the Red Carpet. Upon entering the Museum they indulged in out of this world cocktails and hor d' oeuvres. Then there was the lavish buffet supper prepared by a constellation of caterers. The evening ended with guest enjoying world-class entrainment and witnessing the presentation of the 2011 Awards. (see you didn't miss much).
All kidding aside, It was a wonderful event which honored individuals who have made outstanding contributions to society, the city and the world through their careers and civic engagement. And best of all proceeds will benefit the Museum's educational programs and next year's exhibition schedule.
(Guess I'll never be an Honoree cause I messed up on this event......so fire me!... please!) (smile) Museum info (773) 947-0600 or www.dusablemuseum.org.
