I would like to start the discussion by saying that I support the expansion. Do I have problems with it? Yes.

Are we expanding our responsibilities without getting new board and committee members to cover the larger tasks that are coming? Dilute the unity already found in RWNA? Stop progressing because members require us to work on neighborhood wide issues only?

Put your two cents in.

BIGGER IS NOT BETTER

The most effective neighborhood association size is between 400 to 600 residents and businesses according to research produced from the national neighborhood conferance (NUSA) at Madison, WI in 1999.This information was supplied to the RWNA the same year when this expansion issue was first put on the RWNA agenda. the recommendation was for the considered neighborhood to contact City of Tucson Citizen Neighborhood Services to assist Del Monte Village/Aldes Linda form there own neighborhood association. What the RWNA Board needs to do is admit that for the past two years they have not performed for the residents of the existing RWNA residents. The Board is capitalizing on what the previous President did in 1999 and 2000 while the RWNA Board members chose not to assist the President in any positive manner. RWNA Board needs to clean there own house first.
LETS GET OUR NEIGHBORS MONEY

During 1999 and 2000 the existing President of RWNA sent out quarterly newsletters. From 2000 to the present I have only seen three newletters. These news letters contanined a list of paid up RWNA members by the street and increasing every quarter. This list provided knowledge to the members and an accounting to all.The RWNA discontinued this approved practice of accountability in 2000. Today the RWNA will not publish the quartely newsletter or member list.

WHERE HAS THE MONEY GONE.

Membership has droped off significantly.
The money left in the bank from 2000 on was spendt on foolish quests.

The RWNA board needs an overhaul, accountability, sound management, and board members that do not represent personal and political interests.

The RWNA Board does not know how to build up the existing membership and do the right thing with our hard earned money.

LETS GET OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED TO SERVE EVERYONE RATHER THAN SERVE A SPECIAL INTEREST FEW.

VOTE NO ON EXPANSION

No Expansion

As a long time resident I find that the existing RWNA Board has not kept us informed. The RWNA Board has not done anything to improve our neighborhood for the past two years.New residents need to be elected that are open and honest, keep us informed, knowlegable, and that are willing to work for a better neighborhood.

I have attented your monthly meetings and all you do is give lip service and than do nothing. Vote no to expand.
