What is NNO?
National Night Out is an annual event that happens all over the country on the first Tuesday of every August. It is the biggest community event of the year promoting crime prevention, and millions of people participate across North America. This year, it falls on August 1st.
NNO is designed to: (1) Generate support for and participation in local public safety programs; (2) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Promote neighborhood organizing as a strategy to fight crime and improve public safety and livability.
In order to register your party on the site, you will need to create a login for yourself so you can access the registration form. If you have any difficulty with this process, please call Galina at 503-823-2781. She can enter information at the website for you if you have any problems accessing it on your own, and would be happy to help.
Creating community
Ultimately, NNO is all about creating community and breaking down barriers between people. We hope to see you at an NNO event! Next month?’s CNN newsletter will include a listing of the NNO parties in our area so you can find the one closest to you.
