Last week my/our neighbor at 3520 Central Drive lit several candles in her home and
didn't realize one had tipped and started a huge fire. Within minutes there were 4-5 fire
trucks, followed by police and other fire officials.
Home is now totaled and unlivable, but thank God no one was injured. The two
grandchildren were away for the weekend.
Our prayers go out to those who have been affected by this loss. There was a strong
outpouring of love and support by not only the relatives, but many friends and neighbors.
THIS FIRE COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED..AND OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE! The Fire Department was called for her and people actually
went to her home to get her out!
THIS IS FIRE PREVENTION WEEK. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS in every room and be extra careful to SECURE CANDLES and other flammable, protecting against accidents. Snow is around the corner; make sure any PORTABLE HEATERS, TOO ARE IN GOOD-WORKING ORDER AND AWAY FROM ANYTHING NOT FIRE-RETARDANT!
