Our neighborhood association came into existence in October 2003 but really got started in April 2004, after receiving our first grant from the neighborhood grant program through the Stark Community Foundation.
We have came along way since day one. We have now had several people complete the Neighborhood Leadership Training Program, and we are now working with our fourth grant. We have so many exciting things planned and look forward to expanding our boundries and to also continue to grow.
We would like to invite all the neighbors and their families to everything we have planned and hope for some new ideas and help in the future. We are very family oriented and would like to see our neighborhood a very safe & friendly area that other neighborhoods envy. Remember great things happen in numbers and we all must stick together and work through whatever issues arise.
We became a neighborhood association to be more powerful and strong on taking on the issues from our neighborhood that single caring individuals wouldn't be able to do alone. "Power comes in numbers" and sometimes issues arise that we need the support of each other. We want our neighborhood to be like it was years ago. Safe and friendly, not afraid to ask your neighbor for help, to be family oriented.
Our neighborhood association is very goal oriented to meet the needs of our neighbors. Each time we have an event we see more and more of our neighbors coming together for the benefit of our neighborhood and the children.Looking around we see people helping people. With our association, we try to help those who have not been reached, reaching out to help not just themselves but their neighbors. "When in need" you can always reach any one of our team leaders to help and/or get the help you may need and keep the neighborhood "SAFE!"
We try to plan several events during the year that are family oriented and fun for everyone. We also hold meetings at least once a month. The cost is always free due to the grant program through the Stark Community Foundation and any other donations that we may receive. We usually have a neighborhood cleanup where we provide free trash bags and a dumpster, to promote a clean neighborhood for all. "A clean neighborhood is a safe neighborhood".
