The CitizenObserver web site www.CitizenObserver.com allows the Louisville Metro Police Department to issue alerts quickly and proactively to Citizens and Businesses throughout Metro Louisville.

Local businesses can participate in the Business Alert Network.
Be sure to select your correct business category when you register so that they only send you alerts that impact your company. You can receive these targeted, instantaneous alerts via email, cell phone, pager and fax.
Neighborhood Watch Groups can have their own dedicated page on
CitizenObserver to stay informed about what is happening in your neighborhood.
You can receive Neighborhood Alerts about crimes or other incidents that are uniquely relevant to you.
Residents can bookmark this page to automatically receive Crime Alerts to stay informed about crimes and other safety issues in your community.
To Register
1. Go to www.citizenobserver.com.
2. On the Home Page, click on the “Register its Free” link on the left side of the screen.
3. Fill in all of the requested information.
4. Choose a password that only you will know and enter it into the “Password” and “VERIFY PASSWORD” boxes.
5. Under “Receive Notices” check both of the following boxes:
a. I would like to receive Crime Alerts from my chosen cities.
b. I would like to receive Crime Prevention Group Notices from my chosen
cities.
6. Under “Receive Notices via...” select the method by which you would like to receive
the alerts: Email, Digital Cell Phone, Digital Pager, etc.
To Log In
1. Click on the gold “LOG IN” button in the upper left of the screen.
2. Enter your email address in the “Username” box.
3. Enter the password you set up in your registration in the “Password” box.
1. Make sure you are logged in as a registered user.
2. Click on the “COMMUNITIES” tab along the top of the page.
3. On the map, click on Kentucky.
4. Click on the “Louisville” link in the list of communities.
5. Click on "Add to my Page" in the upper right.
6. On the left side of the screen, locate the “MY PAGES” banner.
7. You should see a link to Louisville listed under “My Communities.”
