November/December News Updates

Nov 25, 2003

Neighbors,

This is a busy season! I hope you will take the time to enjoy the Zoo Lights display Tuesday, December 9th free of charge, and bring some canned goods for the Oregon Food Bank. SHNA is not hosting a cookie exchange in a Zoo classroom this year.

Special Zoo Parking Lot Meeting:
Thursday December 18 at 7 pm
1st Church of the Nazarene
6100 Sw Raab Road Room 307
(office level)

A land use application will be filed shortly to legalize the use of the ?“temporary?” zoo parking lot, 168 spaces, located between the Children?’s Museum and the World Forestry Center. For more information attend the meeting or call Gretchen at 503 226-0551 or email .

The Outreach committee has created a survey. You can find it at our website . Please take a few minutes to print it, fill it out and return it to the address provided. It is important. The SHNA Board makes decisions that affect you and your neighborhood. We value your input and want to provide you with opportunities to comment on these issues. The survey will help us keep you in the loop.

Next Meetings:

Board Meeting: January 7th Fire Station 16, 6:30 ?– 8 pm
Membership Meeting: January 13th Fire Station 16, 7 - 9pm

On the agenda for both meetings will be consideration of the request Senior Neighborhood Portland Police Officer Jeff Myers made at the 11-13-03 SHNA meeting. The request was for a letter of support recommending closing the Zoo MAX Station from 10pm to 2am. If this proposed recommendation affects you please come to one of the meeting, contact your street representative (see the list posted on the website above) or contact Gretchen. We need to hear from you with either positive or negative comments. Thanks.
