Citizens Police Academy Presentation – Jonna Parsons:
Jonna Parsons completed the Citizens Police Academy in the fall of 2006. She gave a very detailed presentation on what she learned during that time. It was very informational and Jonna encourages other South Covington citizens to take advantage of this free program which is held twice a year in the spring and fall. The next academy starts February 22, 2007 and is held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 pm for 8 weeks. Contact Captain Gurren at 292-2203 for additional information.

Signage for SCCAA meetings:
We are working on completing the signs and hope to start placing them at the main exits from the neighborhood onto Hands Pike and Taylor Mill Road.

South Covington Lake Issues:
Suzann Gettys provided maps that illustrated the locations of each of the lakes and the property lines and property owners of lake-abutting property. Also compiled was the database exhibiting the property owners who own property which abut each individual lake. The City of Covington does not own any of the property abutting any of the lakes. The City Legal Department is checking on the easements that may/may not exist relevant to the lakes and access to them. As soon as we have that information, the group will have to discuss this and try to reach consensus about what we want to do with this information. Issues surrounding the lakes have been: maintenance, cleaning, trespassing, fishing, etc. There are those that want to be able to access the lakes, those that do not want anyone on their portion of their lake, but maintenance remains an issue. The abutting property owners are responsible for the maintenance of the lakes.
Next SCCAA Meeting: The next meeting will be on 3-8-07 at the Hands Pike Firehouse at 7:00. The new Police Chief, Lee Russo, will be our guest speaker.

Meeting closed at 8:45 pm
