Results from the Safety Fair
The fair was a huge success and we had approximately 300 attendees. Thanks to everyone that helped make this event happen.
Executive Committee Elections
Elections are to be held every June. There was only one person that offered to run for any position and that was Mardi Fitch who agreed to become the Alternate Secretary. Thanks for getting involved Mardi and congratulations.
The other standing chairs will continue to serve for another year. The Executive Committee is as follows:
Nancy Ray – Co Chair Karen Tichenor – Secretary
Andrea Holland – Co Chair Ken Ray – Treasurer
Ward System Update – Andrea Holland
It was recommended by the Ward System Committee to keep the ward system in place and spend time and effort on educating the public on how they system works and how it can benefit Covington. This was just a recommendation. Final decision is up to the Commissioners.
Mission Statement
This issue has been tabled until the Executive Committee can get together and come up with a draft to present to the group.
Comments from the Chair – Nancy Ray
Larry Tichenor fixed the doorbell at the firehouse. Thanks for getting that done.
Please send in as many postcards as possible to Grillin with Tim. You can get these at Krogers. If we won, this would be a great public relations event to get the association recognized.
Nancy tried to line up a juvenile judge to come and speak to the group but was told that it was impossible due to “ethical reasons.” Jonna Parsons is a part of the Safety Committee and they will hopefully be meeting with the judges so maybe our concerns over juvenile issues will be addressed.
Get it off your chest
