Section 1. Positions and elections
Sub Section 1A
The officers of the SCHA shall be President, Vice-President and Recording Secretary/Treasurer. All officers shall be members of the Board of Directors, sometimes hereafter referred to as ?“The Board?”.
Sub Section 1B
Representatives of sub-areas of the SCHA shall be elected or volunteer to assist the Board and represent their sub-areas at any meetings of the Board in between full membership meetings.
Sub Section 1C
Officers shall be elected at the first annual meeting of the full membership and shall be elected for a term of one year or until the successors are elected. Officers shall assume their duties at the close of the meeting at which they are elected.
Section 2. Duties
Sub Section 2A
President. The President shall be the official representative of the SCHA, preside at the meetings of The Board and general membership meetings, the ex-officio member of any committees and coordinate the work of The Board and committees. The President shall, with approval of the Board, create committees to perform any tasks as required.
Sub Section 2B
The Vice-President shall assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President and shall perform or assist in other duties as may be assigned by the President or The Board.
Sub Section 2C
The Recording Secretary/Treasurer shall: (a) keep written minutes of all meetings of the SCHA, (b) notify The Board of any Board member?’s poor attendance, (c) maintain the Bylaws of the association, (d) be the custodian of SCHA funds and (e) be responsible for ensuring that all financial affairs are carried out in accordance with the directions of The Board and the general membership.
Section 3. Vacancies
Vacancies occurring on The Board shall be filled at the next regular meeting of the membership or at a special meeting of the membership called to fill the vacancy.
