Speed bumps and Stop signs

Posted in: N Laguna Creek
North Laguna needs to have more speed bumps and stop signs. There are too many streets that allow or encourage speeding because of the lack of hinderances. How exactly does one go about getting these type of traffic controls in place?

Mark, I wholeheartedly agree with you. We live on Jacinto and the people do not obey the speed limit. We hear their tires squealing as they fly by the house. I saw a neighbor's cat killed by one of them, they didn't stop of course. I think more stop signs would really help. I have asked the Association about this in the past. I have heard from them lately about what may be done. I am tired of being tailgated as I drive down my street, also. Will it take someone being killed before something is done?

Jacinto Avenue speeding concerns

Hey Sally! I asked Debb Newton, city traffic engineering, to give me a historically report on Jacinto speeding concerns. She sent me a report on May 26th. I'll post this letter on http://www.northlagunacreek.org as soon as problems with the web server (out of my control) are resolved. Bottom line, Jacinto avenue has been a trouble spot for years. There are currently two requests for investigations that are underway and both investigations will be reviewed this month. Look over the letter to see if it addresses your concerns. We will stay after this issue until it is resolved...hopefully before anyone is seriously injured or killed!
