Dear Arthur,

AOL reported that 1000 banks may be closing by the end of the year.  Any scuttlebutt as to which local banks may be endangered?

In essence, I am getting my shoeboxes and pillowcases ready for money storage.

I think you might note the business section today of the Projo indicates a number of banks and credit unions here have dollars to loan and have not relied on the shaky mtg or loan market.
