Speed bumps

Posted in: Pembroke Farms
At our September annual meeting there was a discussion of installing speed bumps on Maggie Court. As a result, this issue may come to a vote of the residents. I would like to encourage my neighbors to vote no on this issue. Speed bumps accelerate vehicle suspension wear and tear and are not effective at reducing speeders. The most effective method of reducing speeders is to approach and talk to them. I spoke with a speeding UPS delivery truck driver yesterday when I followed him in the gate. He was quite embarrassed and promised to stay below 20 mph in the future. Speeding vehicles are indeed a safety hazard to our residents, but speed bumps are not the best solution.
