Neighborhood Watch (NW) is an official, organized and trained group of volunteer citizens. They are the extra eyes and ears of the Orlando Police Department (OPD). It's a partnership between the Neighborhood Watch Unit and citizens of Orlando.
LEHHNA has reactivated our NW Group. We need more volunteers to serve as Block Captains and NW Members.
Block Captain Duties include:
*Distribute information from OPD and/or NW Coordinator to NW members
*Maintains contact information of NW Members
*A Block Captain does not contact NW Members for anything that is not related to NW business
NW Members Duties include:
*Be alert to suspicious activities, notify police and your Block Captain of any
suspicious activity
*Notify your Block Captain if your contact information changes
*Get to know your neighbors, learn their names
*Look after your neighbors' homes when they are away, and ask them to look after yours
*Tell a trusted neighbor how to reach you in an emergency
Anyone interested may contact Tracey Jacobs, NW Coordinator, trj@86plaq.com
Be sure to attend our 2nd Neighborhood Watch meeting in conjunction with LEHHNA's Quarterly meeting, Thursday, August 13. Our Patrolling Officer will be in attendance to answer questions. See you at the meeting!
