Good Afternoon,

Tony was driving around the neighborhood this morning between 9:30am and 10:00am.  He noticed a neighbor hit a pothole on Melrose near the Southfield Service Dr. (Sorry we forgot her name).  She was distressed and expressed she is experiencing death in the family.  Tony calmed her down so she could take pictures of the pothole and the damage to her car (a ruined tire).  Someone came to fill the pothole and said there was an orange cone to indicate the pothole earlier.  This was not true as Tony and the lady were there as witnesses. 

We are aware that construction is continuing but, please consider what the city can do to prevent this from happening to any other drivers.

The lady and the police called the manager and the pothole was fixed.  She also checked into getting her tire fixed.  The lady had been frazzled and frustrated with the manager over the incident after the manager was rudely getting in her face.  I had to defuse the interaction between them.

The construction project needs to be a point of order at the next Magnolia Board Meeting.  Letters and fliers need to be another form of communication that would help bring about understanding between the the construction project and the Magnolia Neighborhood Association.  It would even be a consideration if there was a representative to come to the next meeting to open up communications and clear up any issues or concerns.  Some issues and concerns that have come up include the following:  dirt from construction are on parked cars, a car was stolen on Melrose (the stones blocked our views which could have helped pinpoint a suspect) and the project's longevity.  We want to be informed of all that is and will be occurring so that we accommodate ourselves. 

One observance is that there is a lack of people working when they do work and there are hardly any minorities on the project.  There needs to be more communication between the county and the neighborhood association. We all have to work together to help the construction workers as well.
