Pool Closure / Sick Children????

Posted in: Sage Creek Community News
Anyone else have an unexplained sick child? Someone told me today about their child being sick with a fever, and other children in Sage Creek being sick with a fever, and all of these children are frequent visitors to the pool.

When the pool gets treated for fecal contamination, how long SHOULD the pool be closed for treatment? Our pool has been closed for only 24 hours each incident. Is that really long enough?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see the pool closed at all, but these parents of the sick children are starting to say that they think it could be from the pool.

I don't know, mine are not sick, but is it possible that we are not treating our pool long enough?

Just curious.

YES

Yes, my children have had fever, one complained of a headache (but he had hit his head pretty hard the day before). And now a little girl from Lakeside we had taken to the pool also got a fever.

I'd be interested to know how many others might have had fever too...
fever

My kids haven't been in the pool in over 3 weeks, they have been in a different state and they came back with a fever, so I'm assuming that its just something thats going around and not the pool.

Sick Children

I don`t know how long it should be closed after an infection, but if you worried about it, why not keep your children out of the pool for longer than 24 hrs after the pool re-opened.
24 hrs are too long for myself.
I work in the heat all day and look forward to taking a dip in the evening.
