I would be interested in hearing from people who have had problems with Kaufman and Broad either before/during/after the completion of their house.

Probs with K&B

We had problems with rain leaking at the part of the garage roof where it meets up with the front of the house. It was real bad last Oct during all that rain. Anyway, as far as I can tell they finally got it fixed, but it took at least 3 separate visits from them to get it right (so far). We just kept making phone calls and faxing letters. Make sure to keep track of all the correspondence. Good luck.

Problems with K&B

This was my very first home purchase, and it's true when they say "You learn from your mistakes". I will never purchase another K&B - although I know of many who are satisfied, I guess they purchased the higher quality K&B and not the Classic Homes. The baseboards are deteriorating especially near the exterior doors, the door stoppers have made indents in the baseboards. The shelf in the laundry room had just a small piece of wood (not sure if it was real wood or the same material the baseboards were made out of) but it certainly did not support the center of the shelf, and not my shelf is, like, warped in the middle . . . and that's because I try not to put anything real heavy on it! The sod that K&B provides isn't that great . . . that's what I get for not upgrading. And my water pressure sucks!

One thing for certain, you get more square footage for your money . . .
