July 12 Meeting

I learned alot at the Creekside community meeting last night. Most of the questions, comments, and complaints that have been posted on this section of the web site throughout the past few months were discussed, and to various degrees, answered. I won't go into detail in this posting. Afterall, those who posted such comments, questions, and complaints were at the meeting. Weren't they?

About ten residents of Creekside were in attendance at the meeting last night. So was a representative of the SAPD, COP, and Procomm. It was an opportunity to discuss various issues of importance. One thing I will say; our community needs more home owners to be involved in the meetings, and to volunteer a little bit of their time if our neighborhood is going to be a place we can be proud of for years to come.

Believe me, I wanted to be there and planned on it. My daughter didn't feel well and my husband was at work and I couldn't leave her alone. Please tell me what was discussed. I wanted to be able to present my thanks to the police officer who has been sitting on Senesa Springs in the afternoons. By the way, how many speeders did he get?
I know that putting the minutes up on the website might deter people from showing up at the meetings, but it will also help those of us who really want to be there but cannot. I frequent this website at least once a week and have put forward some input. I would like my association dues to at least provide me an opportunity to find out what was discussed and at least enable me to go forward with any suggestions and ideas. Some of us work various shifts which makes it difficult to volunteer the precious spare time we have. But, in our family's case, we maintain a well-kept house and yard and in return for our yearly dues we expect the ProComm folks to enforce the covenants of Creekside. Why should the people who put out the money also be expected to put out their time and effort to enforce the covenants upon people who don't care. That's ProComms job. If they can't enforce, then perhaps we need to find a company that will.

I understand that not everyone will be able to attend the meetings, but 10 individuals out of 1000 households does not speak well.

I agree the minutes should be posted on this web site as well as any other materials produced and forwarded to homeowners.

We pay $16.67 a month ($200 a year) in association dues. How much and what do we expect from Procomm? Do we know what is stated in their contract?

Our association board members, from the president to all committees, are volunteers (including the web site manager, the secretary who keeps the minutes, and so on). They do not get paid and I would dare say they hear many more complaints than thanks.

Time managagement has always been a factor for everyone. If we consider our neighborhood an extension of our home it my be a little easier to set aside some time. We all spend time working inside and outside our home.

I personally don't try to watch the entire community all the time, just my little cul-de-sac with 12 homes in it. If we all expanded our boundaries beyond our own front yard we could all have an impact. Every little bit helps.

I know I haven't posted what was discussed at the meeting. It would be best to contact a board member as I would not want to misrepresent the issues or make a mistake in interpretation of the events.

By heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to the board members and the folks who put their time and effort into making Creekside a nice place to live. And we have received letters from ProComm and our homeowners assoc. expressing their thanks on keeping a nice house and yard. But - I would really like to know what ProComm does. If they drive by my house I know they have to drive by my neighbors house too and his front yard is completely dead. And he has a patio cover out back that has been falling down for the past year. If we have to maintain the stipulations of the covenants then the backyards are just as important to maintain as the fronts. I just need to vent this. I will be contacting ProComm about this matter. The place is an eyesore and I'm glad I don't have my place up for sale right now because one look at my neighbors on either side would send possible buyers running down the street.
