roaming cats

Posted in: San Antonio Creekside
As a homeowner, I take pride in upkeeping my home/yard. I have invested time and money in my yard and I have come across roaming cats destroying my hard work. They deficate on my yard and dig up my plants in the process. I know city ordinance clearly states pets should be on leashes and not be allowed to roam around freely in public areas. What can be done about this nuisance? I have contacted animal control about this matter and they say they can come and pick up roaming animals but only if I can catch them and keep them in an enclosed area until they can come and pick them up. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thank You

Those d*** cats

I agree with you 100 percent. It really gripes me to put time and effort into a nice landscape only to have some inconsiderate slob turn their cat loose to mess up someone elses place. Academy Sports sells small animal traps. Place some tuna fish in the back of the trap and when the cat comes in and steps on the trigger mechanism the door will slam shut. Then call Animal Control and tell them to come out and get this cat. If it will take a while before they can come out, put the trap with its visitor in your garage or in a cool area (don't want to offend any cat lovers out there) and throw a towel or blanket over it. That should keep it pretty quiet until they come and pick it up. Then you'll have one less mess to deal with. Too bad we can't return the little darlings deposits to it's owner. Same goes for dog owners who let Fido roam the neighborhood and leave little landmines on front yards.
CATS

As you well know, cats are everywhere because people tend to throw them out and not have them fixed like they should. At least they bury their crap and not like dogs. Are you sure it was a cat and not a dog! Do you not like cats?

d*** cats

Of course I like cats -- as target practice. Seriously, all of you so-called cat lovers, allow the cats that spray all over my plants and patio furniture and bury their crap to come over to your place and perfume your porch and yard with their delightful aroma. Let's not stop there. You can gracefully step over all of those mounds of freshly covered cat crap if you look down in time. MMMMM freshly stepped in cat crap. I'm sure you enjoy that scent. If you are so concerned about roaming cats and their poor little existance, then perhaps you need to drive around the neighborhood and sweetly pick up every darn one of them that sprays car tires and jumps up on cars and leaves nice long scratches.
