zonong and future traffic

Posted in: Sonoma Ranch
i would like to know who enjoys the traffic we are now experiencing along sonoma parkway, during peaks and otherwise?
i ask this because there have been several rezoning signs placed at hausman/sonoma parkway and kyle seale/sonoma parkway.

the signs have the following info:

case #: Z2007045
contact : David
phone# :207-3074

based on the information i've seen, look forward to increased traffic due to businesses and apartments that the rezoning will allow for. as it is now, the city has failed miserably at providing any meaningful form of traffic controls at either terminii of sonoma parkway. unless you consider: the police officer who is sometimes called out to do traffic control(sonoma parkway/kyle seale pkwy), cutting across primrose daycare center, cutting across through the summit gate to the kyle seale pkwy gate as adequate solutions.

from the traffic impact analysis threshold worksheet, traffic is listed as currently being 535.92 vehicles per peak hour and an anticipated 4,309 per peak hour after the rezoning if approved. since the community is located over the recharge zone, there will be an impact on the acquifer. saws will be providing a impact study to the zoning commission.

does anyone in the sonoma ranch community find this acceptable? please share your thoughts on this thread. i myself would like to know what others are thinking about this in preparation for january's hoa meeting.

zonong and future traffic

Primrose School already petitioned the city (and collected the signatures) to put in a light at the intersection of Kyle Seale and Sonoma Parkway. The city agreed that we needed one but said they wouldn't/couldn't fund it. At least they agreed to put on in at the other end of Sonoma Parkway at Hauseman. If they do intend on re-zoning the traffic is going to be a nightmare. I suspect it'll happen sooner rather than later though.

are you new to san antonio?

check out hausmanuinited.org, read a little bit and then donate some money to this group. i have. the annexation was done without proper install of infrastructure and services, namely ems, fire and street lights. the rezoning will only add to the nightmare many are experiencing now.

it is better to be proactive rather than reactive. and besides, haven't you gotten the new city tax statement?

Zoning and Traffic Lights

Actually, our web site is hausmanunited.org since our organization is called Hausman United Communities.

We have been researching several issues affecting our communities and I would like to share with you what we've discovered.

Traffic lights - Art Hall and TxDOT have come to an agreement to fund a light at Sonoma Pkwy @ Hausman Rd. However, the city has yet to take any official action on the light, such as funding and voting on it. The earliest the light can be installed is THIS SUMMER. The HOA's announcement that it will be in February is erroneous. City staffers are also recommending lights at Sonoma Pkwy @ Kyle Seale Pkwy and Windy Creek @ Hausman Rd. The earliest we will see those is in Fall 2007. See our web site for details.

Rezoning - The Kyle Seale ranch is scheduled to be considered for rezoning in February. They want to rezone the portion along Feather Trail for apartments. The rest would be rezoned commercial. And those lots are large enough to accomodate just about anything. We have heard rumors that Wal-Mart is looking at bulding a Super Center there, but we have been unable to determine the truth of that. We will continue to investigate this and any facts we uncover will be posted on our web site.

If you want to keep up with what is going on, check out our web site and consider helping us in our efforts to maintain our current standard of living here.

Thank you!
