Street Signs

Posted in: Oak Park-Northwood
I would like to get a consensus on a request to replace some of the deteriorated Street Name Signs in our neighborhood.

I have noted deteriorated signs at a number of intersections in the area, with the heaviest concentration seeming to be along Haskin and Seidel between Eisenhauer and Urban Crest. Some of these signs are virtually unreadable at daytime, much less at night. they are also an eyesore, in my opinion.

I began reporting some of these intersections to the City in October 1998, but no action so far. I was told by someone in the Sign Shop that these requests could take up to six months to fill.

Does anyone else feel this is an issue worth pursuing?

Will keep alert for this.

I have not noticed this problem on
the streets that I normally travel.
I will consciously look for it.
Should I agree I will get back.
Thanks for making me aware of this.

Signs Replaced

Several Street Name Signs, including those in my October, 1998 request, were replaced in late December, 1999 after notifying Councilman David Carpenter's office of my previous requests.
