In an effort to organize some fun teen pool parties this year, please share/post your ideas here. One idea is to help our teens organize one party after hours at the pool for themselves with food, music, and swimming. Perhaps there would be pizza for all, music the teens bring to the party, games, swimming, etc. There was not sufficient time for the Sep 2006 plans to bear fruit, but this year perhaps we can have one party for June, July, and August for our teens. Need you to contact me as soon as possible so that we can have our first party during the later part of June, a ''Glad School Is Out!'' party. We need teens also to talk up the idea and ideas for their parties. Watch the Calendar for organizational meeting dates.

Suggest as an initial framework to consider for the parties:

Parkwood teens (who are in 7-12 grade) are invited to attend (must reside in Parkwood). Each teen may bring one teen guest, who does not need to reside also in Parkwood, although that is preferred.

When a party date is established, teens will be given instructions on how to sign up to attend/. Teens and their guests who have not registered may be turned away at the entrance.

Identification will be checked at the entrance.

Bring your own music, food, and drink (NO GLASS whatsoever).

The plan is to start the party as the pool usually closes and extend to midnight, likely on a Friday or Saturday night.

Normal pool rules will operate. The pool will be properly guarded.

Need to ask parents/adults willing to assist in chaperoning to contact Mike McCormack (mccormackm@mindspring.com) as soon as possible to help assure these events are safe, adequately supervised and monitored, to help make for an enjoyable, fun activity for our teens.

Past teen pool parties indicate this can be a great time to visit for you and your friends. Teens need to spread the word.

We can thank the Parkwood Maintenance Assn Board of Directors for supporting the costs of these events.

Bring your ideas and friends to the organizational meeting set for early June (see Calendar for details) so hopefully we can have a party in June, in July, and in August this year!
