Picnic in the Park

I am concerned about the up coming fall picnic?…

The Easter Egg Hunt was a failure under the new HOA with no refreshments or food provided which many people have always looked forward to. I don?’t know how many actually attended but I was appalled by the Easter Egg Hunt and was just hoping that the board had already started talking about the Fall Picnic because with the efficiency that they do things they will need the months to complete and execute a successful picnic. In the past the activities were much more successful but through the ignorance we see now in the board of changing everything many activities have failed. For the future of the egg hunt (I have several siblings) chocolate is a BAD thing to put in eggs that sit in the sun for hours. You see chocolate melts and therefore is thrown away, which much of it was, that is why it was never used in the past. Try next time using hard candies such as Smarties and gum etc. Also the top prizes I think could have been a little better. Most of those kids didn?’t know what to think when they got a good egg. Instead of spending thousands on landscaping and then re-landscaping maybe 30 more dollars could have been put in and the overall effect of the Easter egg hunt would have been more successful.

What I am going at is that for the Fall Picnic I was hoping that the HOA wouldn?’t try completely doing the opposite of the previous board, much of which is done in ignorance, and that you could follow the steps of their planning and execution of these activities which many people have seen as successful. For the fall picnic I can vouch that the food used has been a sell out and was well liked by many if all and saved a lot of capital, which could have been easily lost. For the first time maybe you should resort to help from the previous HOA board members because these activities I believed were carried out very well.

This board has only concern

That kids aren't welcome in this neighborhood. They would like to make Redland Woods into a retirement Subdivision (just like Roseheart on Bulverde). Has anyone notice the amount of families with kids have left our neighborhood. The new board is DEAD SET against the pool, as they are afraid that the property values might increase and thus they will taxed out of their house. One board member actually told me this. The pool money is being spent dollar by dollar into the new landscaping(which not that large of improvement) I heard the landscaping after all said and done will be around $100,000. PLEASE NEW BOARD MEMBERS TELL ME THAT I HAVE HEARD WRONG.

I think there is only of the old board members still left in the neighborhood(I guess they got the HINT who runs the HOA)

The problem in this community is everyone wants things done the way they wish to see them, but they want someone else to do it. I'm sure the Board welcome your interest and concern. The newsletter tells you how to contact them so that you can volunteer for this activity next year.
