Landscaping Costs?

Posted in: Redland Woods
I just received my newsletter and maybe I missed it, but I didn't see the costs of the landscaping and tree trimming.

I think I recall seeing in a newsletter last year that any project over $40,000 would require a vote of the community. I find it ironic that the board condemns the ?“long drawn out?” pool vote but then uses the landscaping vote to justify their actions. Surely, they don?’t believe that the ballots personally collected by Chuck Graff are a representation of the community. I know from personal experience that Chuck only collected ballots that agreed with his position (he refused to take my ballot when I disagreed with him). The ballot results are a biased, manipulation by the board. I find it equally ironic that Colletta would question the results of a door-to-door questionnaire conducted by some of my neighbors two or three years ago (saying that door-to-door ballots were biased and that the study didn?’t allow enough time for everyone to respond) and then turn around and criticize last year?’s votes. Also, why did it take the board so long to report the results when the votes were finished in January?

Once again, it appears to me that the board doesn?’t care what the homeowners want, just as long as they get what THEY want. The next thing we will see is that the board decides to put up a new fence, because they want a new fence in their own backyards.

I personally don?’t object to spending money, but do object to spending money that doesn?’t help ALL homeowners. Some of my neighbors (including those who conducted the survey three years ago) have moved to other family-oriented communities. They report that their property values are increasing, while my property value increase barely pays for the property taxes. If the board can?’t find good investments for the money, then just give the money back to the homeowners. The board is worse than the Government ?– tax and spend!

Landscaping Cost

Very good point. I haven't seen any cost on projects in the newsletter.

I guess the previous board seemed to think that this was important information for the community.
