Annexation Meeting Thursday

Greetings everyone!
As I write, we have a little over three weeks left to get our annexation by
the city of San Antonio overturned. On January 1, the annexation becomes
irrevocable.
During the past two years, our strategy has been to await a decision by the
Texas Supreme Court allowing us to proceed with a lawsuit we filed against
the city. Unfortunately, to the amazement of everyone following the case in
question, the Supreme Court has yet to announce its ruling -- it has been
deliberating this decision for nearly two years! Without that ruling, we
cannot proceed with our lawsuit. Because of the impending deadline for us
to overturn the annexation, it is now necessary for us to carry out ''Plan
B.''
Unlike our original plan, which would only require us to make a phone call
to our attorney telling him to proceed with our lawsuit, our alternative
''Plan B'' requires a little effort on the part of everyone in our community.
I really do mean *a little* effort -- probably about 10-15 minutes of your
time in the comfort of your own home sometime during the next two weeks.
In order to discuss and coordinate this effort, Hausman United Communities
is hosting a public meeting this coming Thursday, December 13, at 7:00pm, in
the Bob Beard Elementary School cafeteria. It is very important that as
many residents of our area attend this meeting as possible -- please tell
your friends, neighbors, and HOA board members to attend this meeting! This
will be our organization' s final public meeting about the annexation!
If you want to compel the city to address our concerns for better emergency
services and infrastructure improvements, you need to attend. If you are
interested in lowering your property taxes by $1,200-$2,000 a year, you need
to attend. We *can* still force the city to disannex us. But it will now
require all of us to pull together and help a little to get the job done.
Please join us at our meeting this coming Thursday!
Thank you for your support over the years!
Respectfully,
Ronald Parks
Chairman
