Stop Signs-Neighborhood safety

Posted in: Sonoma Ranch
I've noticed the new STOP signs on Ruidosa Downs but I have also noticed (in that same area) too many cars parked both sides of the street and several children using those same streets as playgrounds. This is NOT only a violation of the neighborhood covenants but a serious safety issue.

Between the children playing in the streets and the parked cars blocking both sides of the street, that area is becoming a nightmare. Something needs to be done.

ah-one of the neighbors placed a ''child sign'' on the sidewalk-if they really care about their children's safety they should have their children play in a safe area-like THEIR OWN BACK YARD or the neighborhood club house) THE STREETS ARE NOT PLAYGROUNDS!

stop signs

the signs aren't regulation/state udc legal...they are just like the ones at the heb parking lot. since the property is private property, the signs are really unenforceable for the most part.

great idea about the child sign.

Bogus Stop Signs?

If failure to stop at the stop signs can't and won't be enforced legally, then the signs are dangerous and parents need to tell their children the signs don't mean stop! What a powerful statement for our future drivers! It's no wonder San Antonio leads the state in traffic accidents!
Stop Signs

If they are not legally enforceable, then did the HOA pay for them? It sure seems we don't get anywhere near what we should get from the city when it comes to enforcement. I just wonder where the line is drawn. Someone can drive 60 MPH and SAPD can do nothing, but we have a burglary, and they can? Or can they? Is the line drawn with traffic/misdemeanor and felony? Does that mean they can't act on a driver who is DUI? I'm not being sarcastic, just really would like to know how all this works. If we can get no city support for law violators (traffic or otherwise, then should we not get some of our city tax money back in some sort of rebate?
