Last week I had the opportunity to speak to a police officer about neighborhood law enforcement and rising levels of crime in El Dorado. I was shocked to learn that there are no officers assigned to patrol the neighborhoods. Traffic officers are assigned to monitor the highways and major roads but not the neighborhoods. The officer with whom I spoke, said he is assigned to respond to calls, some of which are in the neighborhoods, but there is no time to actually patrol the neighborhoods.
So, if you?’re wondering when we?’ll actually get some noise relief or if you?’re wondering why so many of our residents are reporting their home being burglarized, maybe you should ask the police chief when he plans to have the police start patrolling the neighborhoods.
