Speeding in the neighborhood

Posted in: Pinon Creek
I walk my dog while in wheelchair and find that the construction workers drive by as if it was the Indy 500 Race. I sometimes feel like I am taking my life in my hands. Is there anyone that can address this issue?

Thanks.

reply to speeders

Arlene,

I think the speeders are no more. At least the past two weeks I haven't noticed them since we spoke to Sam about it.
Speeding History

Speeding both within the neighborhood and on Roan Park were concerns raised at the very inception of the HOA. The landscape committee did some thorough research into these items, eventually getting a traffic study on Roan Park in an attempt to justify speed limit change and/or a stop sign or light also.

The long and short of it is that there are very specific criteria for streets, tied to federal funding, that they must adhere to. So there was nothing they could do about changing any of the speed limits, it was not possible to add speed bumps (or any of the current variations), and a stop sign or traffic light at Evans was also ruled out. In our case, they are city streets, so we have to adhere to the city guidelines.

That having been said, it sounds like the most effective action may have already been taken, which is to contact Medallion or the companies directly that are involved.
