Bulverde Rd is a parking lot from mid afternoon to well after 6:30 every day. A lot of cars are using our community as a short-cut to Evans or Encino Rio. I have personally witnessed traffic (including empty school buses)using excessive speed from Salano through Lawrey into Antigua to save time (and put our kids at risk). Some adjacent sub divisions have tried speed bumps to deter both the speeders and short cutters I would be in favor of speed bumps at strategic locations as well as visible signs warning of the presence of children. We have a wonderful subdivision and need to stay ahead of the curve with regards to increased traffic entering our community.

speed and short cutters
Don, I agree. At our last HOA meeting on October 2, 2007, a Traffic Committee was established to study the issue. The Chairperson is Carol Loveless, her email address is cll.love@sbcglobal.net. We looked into the same issue several years ago and the response from the city was that we did not meet the minimum requirements. Now that there is more traffic, we may meet the city's requirements. It is definitely worth looking into. |

I also agree. They have styles that will slow people down, yet not tear up vehicles. I realize nay-sayers will tell us to keep the kids out of the streets, but the reality is there isn't any other place that they can play because our lots are realatively small. Even those playing in their front yards are going to have to retrieve a ball, unwittingly jump into traffic now and then. Knowing how fierce the opposition was to this in 2003-2004 we'd need a vote to push forward with this. |

David: Since 2003-2004, I have had 3 grandchildren. One lives with me and I keep the oldest every Friday night and Saturday. Last Saturday, my 15 month old got away from me and because my front yard is on a fairly steep incline on Antigua, before I could catch him he was headed for the street! Because of the idiots who drive down Antigua at 40+ mph, my heart was racing with fear by the time I grabbed him (he didn't actually make it to the street). I totally agree that the traffic situation has gotten way out of control and we need to do something to ensure the safety of our families. We need to get the word out to our neighbors and rally to get the City to step in before someone is seriously injured. |
