I just wanted to let everyone know we had some car burglaries in our neighborhood last night. At least 4 cars were burglarized. On Longwood, the thieves popped the lock on a truck box and stole some tools. Also on Longwood, the thieves broke a car window to steel a DVD player. I don?’t have any details about the other two vehicles. Additionally, last week we have several cars on Antigua and Longwood get egged.

I know several people filed police reports and I just want to encourage everyone to call the police when any theft or vandalism occurs. The police use the information to increase patrols in neighborhoods where they see problems escalating.

This may also be a good time to talk about the COP (citizen on patrol) program. If there is enough interest in getting a program going in our neighborhood. We can have a presentation held in a home or at the cabana for as few as eight people.

Vandalism

We too were victims of vandalism right around the same time. Our car, driveway & garage door was sprayed with paint. It occured between the hours of 6PM - 9PM. A neighbor said they saw a male jump into a smaller gold/bronze colored SUV, possibly a Ford Escape and pull away from the front of our house around 8PM. A Police report was filed. Everyone should keep their eyes open and report any suspicious activities or persons.
