Car vandalism

Posted in: San Antonio Creekside
Two days ago, we were approached by our next door neighbors and they told us that someone had broken the windows of a car owned by our other neighbors who live two houses down the street from us. These vandals stole some cds from the back seat. This is the second time we hear about something of this nature occurring in our neighborhood. The first time we heard about cars being broken into was when we went to pick up the Creekside playground identification tags from Zealla Veader and Ted Jackson about three months ago. After telling Mrs. Veader that someone threw eggs at our cars, she proceeded to tell us that there were reports from other Creekside residents that a handful of cars were vandalized - either the windshields were smashed in or the tires were slashed.
I'm starting this discussion because we need to address this issue to all residents and find solutions to this problem. First of all, what is the progress on the COPS program? And what actions/proposals are taken by the neighborhood association leaders to prevent these acts from happening in the future? For all you residents who read this message, if you see or hear anything concerning vandalism, please respond to this discussion or start a new one and let your street editors know about it. It is important that everyone is informed of this issue so that we can all better protect our properties.
Suggestion

First off I would like to commend you on taking the time to write this letter. I am the Recreation Committee Chairman. The input from our comunity is a must. Without a line of comunication we can solve any issues pertaining to Creekside.
First off get involved. If you would like more information on the COPS program I will be more than glad to give it to you. The more people involved with this program will result in a dramatic decline in vandalism and other crimes.
The COP's program is only as strong as the people who take the time to get involved. The more people we get to take the time out of their busy schedule to be apart of the program the less each person has to work.
The COP's program is a great program and has the potential for saving us all ALOT of money in repairs to cars, windows, fences and property.
