Diane,

The purpose of this letter is to point out some specific items that KB Homes needs to take care of here in the Gardens at Castle Hills. They are two categories and you have pictures of them: two islands and the vacant lot. They are problems that were created as direct results of changes made after they were completed the first time, or they were used for construction dumping. So this request is simply to return the areas to the condition they were in prior to those modifications.

First, two of the three islands in the streets have been modified and are now covered with rocks. Originally, all three islands had grass and landscaping. Then the one on Archer's Bay was made smaller and about that time it was covered with rocks, as was the island on Boxer Palm. These two islands are nuisances and eyesores because of weeds and grass coming up through the rocks and the rocks falling onto the streets. The solution is to remove the rocks and replace with landscaping, grass, and irrigation similar to the island on Bedford Stage in front of the mailboxes, which has remained unchanged.

Second, the vacant lot at the far west corner of Ancient Coach has become a mess and is now an eyesore too. As the community has built to capacity, that once-beautiful grassy lot has been used for a dumpster, a concrete wash-out, and a dump for rocks and miscellaneous construction items. While there is not a lot of debris there now, the grass has been covered over with rocks and concrete washings and no grass will grow there. The debris should be removed, it needs to be scraped and covered with topsoil, and grass put in to return it to the original condition it was in before it was used for a construction zone. The drainage area should be cleared of erosion, the erosion collectors removed, and grass replaced. Also, in the far back of the vacant lot, it is unlevel and cannot be reached by mowers. That area is dangerous and should be leveled out.

Please bring this to the attention of the appropriate people at KB Homes and ask for their resolution of these problems that were created in our neighborhood by them and their construction personnel.

Thanks in advance,

Robert E. Watts
